Angry Birds may be back in the lead as America's favorite virtual fowl. Yes, in a series of rather dramatic Tweets, Flappy Birds creator Dong Nguyen officially pulled the app from Apple's App Store and Android's Google Play platform. The expert gamer could no longer handle the pressure and stress that came with the game's success. So, as of today, 12 p.m. EST, Flappy Birds laid its weary wings to eternal rest.
The app took flight in May 2013, but quickly became a sensation this past week as it climbed to the top free app in Apple's App Store and Google Play for Android. The concept of the game is to keep a (flappy) bird afloat by moving it through a series of obstacles. Though seemingly simple in structure, the game proved difficult to navigate.

Nguyen's announcement has really ruffled some fans' feathers. So severely that some deranged gamers are out for his life.
Okay, YIKES. Looks like it's not just the birds that are angry now.
