It's a sound that, at once, defined university radio and signaled a transition away from the Warped Tour sound. Most bands like Mobius Band and Rogue Wave became niche favorites; The Postal Service, a cult classic. Then there's Priscilla Ahn, the tiny voice that successfully matured her sound with the scene.
Now, seven years after the release of her first EP, Ahn is sitting pretty as the neo-indie princess. Her fifth album, This Is Where We Are, comes out later this month and delicately blends her ethereal voice with electronic folk themes. "You and Me" reads like an artist statement for the project. It's light and refreshingly blissful — a love letter free of cheese and cliché. That's Ahn's forte, and it's on full display here.
