Zara Makes A Shoe That’s Meant To Be Messed Up

zara-1
A style trick born out of necessity (more than, say, fashion), this is something we've all probably done in desperation after hours of dancing. You know, when the edge of your shoe keeps rubbing uncomfortably on your heel? There's only one remedy: To save yourself, you squish the back of your shoe down for instant relief and — voilà! — you've created a de facto mule. Well, Zara has cashed in on that foot-saving trick with a shoe that's meant to be mushed.
The mule has made a huge comeback over the past year. We've seen it bedazzling the spring runway and giving a fuzzy texture for fall '14. So, consider this metallic style a DIY version that you can try out now and, still rely on should you tire of the backless version. After all, Zara's always been the place to shop for trends that you may not be ready to majorly invest in, right? Let us know below if you think these fold-down mules are genius — or just, plain strange.
