Kenzo Wants To Brand What’s In Your Wallet, Too

Chances are, you already own, or want to own, a Kenzo wallet. For us, the brand's bright, print-happy cardholders are the happiest part of picking up a check. But, think about the credit cards that lie within your wallet. So plain, gray, and tragically unbranded (well, unless Visa counts). Don't they deserve to get in on the fun, too? Well, now they can.
WWD reports today that Kenzo has teamed up with French bank Caisse d'Epargne to create two limited edition bank cards. Called the "Tribute to Women" cards, they feature patterns inspired by Kenzo’s spring collection, plus a matching cardholder. The cards were created in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, and will be offered free to customers on that day at all Caisse d'Epargne branches, and via the Internet.
This isn't the first-ever fashion-branded bank card. Caisse d'Epargne has previously produced plastic designed by Christian Lacroix in 2011, and a Swarovski-crystal embellished one in 2012 (wonder how many times those got caught in the cardholder). So, if your favorite designer hasn't made a card yet, it might only be a matter of time. Hey, sure beats the Garfield checks our bank offers. (WWD)
