Flu Season’s In Full Swing & It’s Totally After You

Don't let this bout of milder weather fool you — spring has not yet sprung. Flu season is still in full swing. And, according to the CDC, the flu is taking its toll on younger people this time around. CNN reports that people between the ages of 18 and 64 make up 61% of all influenza-related hospitalizations this season. In previous years, that same age group made up just 35% of cases.
What's more, more than half of the flu-related deaths this season are those between the ages of 25 and 65 — up from last year's 25%.

If you haven't already, it's not too late to get a flu shot. The CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report claims this year's flu vaccine can decrease the likelihood of having to see a doctor for flu symptoms by 60% for all age groups. And, considering that the organization is expecting widespread flu activity across the country for the next few weeks, getting the vaccine might not be a bad idea. Of course, if you're not into vaccinations, you can always try these (kind of weird) home remedies. (CNN)
