Julia Roberts: Pretty Woman Goes Platinum Blonde

Fans of Julia Roberts' signature red mane need to brace themselves. Hollywood's favorite redhead has caught the blonde bug and bleached her mane a rather fabulous shade of platinum.

E! Online broke the story, spotting the actress out and about in newly flaxen strands. Click here to see the actress' brand-new 'do. Roberts has a history as a bit of a hair chameleon. She's flirted with hair color on and off for decades, most recently unleashing her blonde ambition in June 2011. With what could be called "subtle ombré" ends at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, you could see how she might be tempted to lighten to a golden hue. Nope, Roberts has pulled out all stops (and pigment) so that she's bleached and beautiful just in time to walk the Oscars red carpet for her August: Osage County Best Supporting Actress nomination.

You've got to hand it to her. The guts it takes to completely overhaul your hair color right before a huge red-carpet appearance is pretty significant, but Roberts seems to take these things in stride. It's not her first time at the rodeo.

But here's the catch: That white-blonde hair is like a giant spotlight over her head, which is only going to call more attention to her dress this season. Fingers crossed it's a knockout. (E! Online)
