L.A. Approves E-Cigarette Ban — Do You Agree?

E-Cig
So long, e-cigarettes. Yesterday, the L.A. City Council made a unanimous decision to ban them everywhere real cigarettes are banned, such as restaurants, clubs, bars, and parks. The vote follows in the footsteps of similar legislation in NYC a few months ago. LA Weekly reports that as long as the mayor signs off on the ordinance instead of vetoing it, the ban could go into effect in a little over a month.
The ban is either good or bad news, depending on your stance. On one hand, many people rely on e-cigarettes to quit smoking real cigarettes, so it seems unfair to those people who are trying to improve their health. On the other hand, however, they have not been proven to be free from health risks, so it could be better safe than sorry. Parents will also likely support the ban, as e-cigarettes do not have age restrictions, and even minors can purchase them. So, folks, weigh in: Are you for or against the decision? (LA Weekly)
