Rad Or Bad: Transparent Shoe-Boots

We’re all about taking footwear risks — especially when planning an outfit from the feet up. And, under Miuccia Prada’s watchful eye, Miu-Miu consistently offers statement styles we'd build a whole wardrobe around: kaleidoscopic color combinations, vertigo-inducing platform heels, and pin-sharp stilettos to name a few.
The brand’s Paris Fashion Week show was a lesson in utilitarianism, with models hitting the catwalk in quilted nylon jackets, miniskirts, and transparent, PVC ankle boots. Oh yes, Miu Miu’s statement heel was part Buck Rogers moon-boot with just a hint of the Wellies we all had growing up. Remember the ones with the drawstring top?

The candy-wrapper quality made these a catwalk hit, but the models only spent 45 seconds walking in them. How would these — especially the blue and green PVC versions — fare after a day running around town? Would bringing up the potential for fogginess due to foot sweat be going too far?
We're sure no one's ever said that "shoes are the windows to your feet," but, even so, could this be fashion’s plasticky answer to the impending April showers? Or, is it a blister-machine waiting to happen? You decide.
