Around two years ago, we were invited to the Austin set of Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, the sequel to Robert Rodriguez's nightmarish neo-noir Sin City. There, we watched as Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Powers Boothe, ensconced by green screen, acted out an imaginary game of poker in an imaginary dive bar with imaginary smoke billowing through the air. We remember thinking how neat it will be to see Robert Rodriguez digitally fill in the blanks to once again bring Frank Miller's phantasmagoric vision to life.
Then came the delays. They were followed by even more delays and more after that. We were beginning to wonder if the long-awaited but oft-delayed crime saga would ever see the inside of a movie theater. That's why today is a special day. Today, we get the first glimpse of that smoky poker den, the way Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, who wrote an original script for the film, envisioned it. Today we get our first look at Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, and it looks better than we could have ever imagined.
August 22 can't get here soon enough. Check out the trailer below.
