We've been waiting for this one for at least four years. No one but no one does a better job of bringing out the glossy glamour of any entertainment production than Vanity Fair. No one gets better access. So, naturally, the Game of Thrones issue of Vanity Fair hitting the stands Thursday is bound to be a treasure.
Today, we got ourselves a big, juicy teaser, including a preview of Jim Windolf's feature on the series and a couple of seriously killer images shot by the inimitable Annie Leibovitz. Beautiful stuff.
Windolf got GoT series producer David Benioff to talk about the fact that author George R. R. Martin has already let him and co-producer D. B. Weiss in on how the whole Song of Ice and Fire will end! “Last year, we went out to Santa Fe for a week to sit down with him [Martin] and just talk through where things are going, because we don’t know if we are going to catch up and where exactly that would be," he tells VF. "If you know the ending, then you can lay the groundwork for it. And, so we want to know how everything ends. We want to be able to set things up. So, we just sat down with him and literally went through every character.” Martin himself talks about giving away his oh-so-secret ending. “I can give them the broad strokes of what I intend to write, but the details aren’t there yet. I’m hopeful that I can not let them catch up with me.” Well, for that to happen, George, you better stop giving interviews to glossy pubs and stick to writing, no?
