In a story published today, WWD reports that Peter Philips has been designated the new creative and image director for Dior makeup. The former creative director at Chanel makeup will replace Pat McGrath in her previous role of overseeing the makeup looks for upcoming Dior fashion shows. (These will undoubtedly be jaw-dropping, as Philips is famous for creating high-concept looks for editorial and runway.)
Philips, a self-taught makeup artist, has had an impressive career — who could forget the darkly romantic tulle smoky eye at Chanel's 2014 couture show? And, in recent years, he has became one of the most sought-after masterminds in the beauty industry. Considering the cult favorite products that Philips created at Chanel, we can only imagine the primpers that are to come from Dior under his magic wand of pretty. The only thing we're hoping Philips won't overhaul? The Dior Addict Lip Glow. There's just no improving on that little piece of heaven.
