Watch Kristen Wiig’s New Trailer & Get A Serious Case Of The Feels

We've been hearing a lot of buzz surrounding Kristen Wiig's latest project, Hateship Loveship. It's made a festival appearance here and there. We missed them all. Instead, this trailer was our first glimpse of the indie flick directed by up-and-comer Liza Johnson. As you can see, it's a bit of a departure from our girl's regular, funny fare.
Wiig is the lonely, inexperienced caretaker of a teenager played by one of our other faves, Hailee Steinfeld. In the teaser, we see the teen play a harmless trick on Wiig's character — a sort of romantic gaslighting, if you will. Sure, hijinks ensue, but not the knee-slapping SNL kind (though we do get a laugh out of Kristen practicing kissing in the mirror).

Nick Nolte, Christine Lahti, and our beloved Jennifer Jason Leigh also make appearances in what could be a real career changer for Wiig. We always knew she had it in her.
Hateship Loveship hits limited theaters in early April, but you can take a peek for yourself right here. (The Hollywood Reporter)
