Yves Saint Laurent will never be just a name on a clothing tag or solely a symbol that represents elite status for people who can afford the luxury designs. We know that, as do plenty of others who may not geek out over fashion documentaries and can talk about new collections at length. But, thanks to an upcoming film, Saint Laurent's story is getting the attention it deserves one more time.
Yves Saint Laurent, directed by Jalil Lespert, acts as the iconic designer's biography. And, we have the first peek at the official movie poster, above, which features a watercolor image of a young Saint Laurent (played by Pierre Niney). The film takes us from his days at Dior in his 20s to the start of his own label — and the rest is history, to say the least. Of course, his relationship with Pierre Bergé (Guillaume Gallienne) is a big part of the flick as well. After all, this is not just a fashion biography — it's a love story, too. The film debuts on June 25 this year in select theaters. Excuse us while we pencil that in.
