When it comes to figuring out what's next, that little known New York borough of Brooklyn is typically where it's at. Sure, Manhattan has all the fixings for a fantasy television show, but the land across the Williamsburg Bridge and underneath the East River is where ideas begin (granted the L train is, in fact, functioning).
As festival season creeps into high gear, news of Brooklyn's now sixth annual Northside Festival is beginning to surface. And, lucky for you, a little birdie let us in on a Northside Festival secret: CHVRCHES is headlining. Yep, the Scottish synth-pop wunderkinds will headline one of two free shows at McCarren Park during the weekend of June 14-15. Its Sunday show is, indeed, free (nab 'em here!). All you have to do is RSVP. Easy, eh? Just get there early because you don't want to miss one of this year's must-know acts.
In addition to CHVRCHES, Northside Festival's week-long run (June 12-19) will highlight the likes of Mas Ysa, Sharon Van Etten, and Beach Fossils. Yep, 400 bands, 100 speakers, and 50 films will play out during the eight-day adventure. We'll be seeing you front and center come June 15!
