We've got some scary news out of the City of Lights this morning. It appears that Colette, hands-down one of our favorite French stores, was subject to a straight-up armed robbery. It happened an hour before the boutique opened on Saturday, when a small group of employees were on hand.
According to Women's Wear Daily, two men — wielding a shotgun and an axe, no less — broke in and stole a handful of luxury watches. Luckily it all went down before the perennially busy shop was open to customers, and none of Colette's employees were hurt. But, a director at the Paris police department believes that the robbery was timed purposefully — meaning they had inside knowledge of when Colette's team would be setting up.
Even scarier? This is the third time this week that burglars have hit a shop on the upscale rue Saint-Honoré. Here's hoping they nab these guys, and stat. (Women's Wear Daily)
