So, I got a facial the other night. But, not just any facial — a face, neck and hand treatment, courtesy of none other than newly single Gwyneth Paltrow's favorite line, Restorsea. I'm going to admit right up front that I'm not the biggest fan of spa treatments. I know it's beauty-editor heresy, but I don't really find them relaxing. I enjoy things like yoga and cooking that allow me to fully detach from both my iPhone and my thoughts. As nice as it is to be massaged and lotioned by another person, spa treatments just allow me too much time to think...and stress. Call me ungrateful, but it's just not really my thing.

So, these were my thoughts as I went in to try out Restorsea's limited-time-only facial at Equinox Spa at 85th Street. I was deeply preoccupied thinking of missed e-mails and compromised deadlines (and, of course, the fact that GP herself had just announced her divorce. Does nothing last?!). Sure, the treatment was nice, but I was convinced that it wouldn't do much for my skin, which is normally pretty chill but has lately been a blotchy, irritated, blemished mess.
But, when it was all over, my skin was much softer. Hm. I made some dinner, watched some bad TV, and went to bed. When I woke up in the morning, my skin was almost perfect. I'm not kidding. What was previously red, rough, and bumpy was smooth as a baby's bottom, glowing, and totally even-toned. My friend Gwyneth did not lie — this skin-care line is the bee's knees. I truly couldn't believe it.
So, calling all New Yorkers: If your skin is in as much need of some post-winter TLC as mine was, tonight is your chance to take Restorsea for a spin yourself. For $75 bucks (which will be applied to purchase of products!), you will basically get a total life skin makeover. You already know Gwyneth approves, so what are you waiting for?
Restorsea Rejuvenating Face, Neck & Hand Treatment, $75, available March 27 until 8 p.m. at The Spa At Equinox, 203 East 85th street (between Second and Third Avenues), 212-439-8500.
