In a world where life mimics Instagram, Lena Dunham reigns supreme. She sees the world with a permanent Hudson filter and everyone, including her own significant other, Jack Antonoff, can't escape the perils of quarter-life crises — a.k.a. Millennialism — fictional or otherwise.
She of the Girls phenom and he of the Rachel Antonoff bloodline, recently joined forces on a music video collab, with Dunham directing the latest video for Antonoff's solo project, Bleachers. Her brazen approach is evident as Dunham tackles her favorite themes: neuroses and relationships.
"I Wanna Get Better" is solid track from fun. guitarist that's ripe with the "can't evens." Dunham can't even lighten the film's exposure, Parks & Rec's Retta can't even with her betrothed, some girl can't even stop touching herself, and Antonoff just can't. His fictional patients cause him to smugly stare off into space while they lip-sync his own song at him. If only his early-to-rise fictional girlfriend had let him make that twee espresso! But, she couldn't even, either.
Let's hear it apathy! Or, you know, let's...not.
