Lupita Nyong’o & Lancôme Are A Match Made In Beauty Heaven

Oscar-award-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o is the epitome of grace, talent, and intelligence — but, as we've noted many, many times before, the woman can also wear the bejeezus out of some makeup. Whether rocking a lavender lip gloss, orange lipstick and eyeshadow, or a deep berry pout, Nyong'o is always pushing beauty boundaries — and we knew it was only a matter of time before the world took notice.

So, we were thrilled to hear that Lancôme has signed the gorgeous (and makeup-loving!) star as the newest face of the brand. Nyong'o joins some of the world's most celebrated actresses (Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, and Penélope Cruz) in her post as spokeswoman. And, true to form, she was beautifully eloquent in her statement about the partnership.

"I am truly honored to join the Maison Lancôme, a brand with such a prestigious history that I have always loved," said the actress in a statement from the company. "I am particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman's freedom to be herself." If this teaser image is any indication, Nyong'o's campaign with the brand is going to be a beautiful one, indeed.
