It's taken 16 long years to wash the bad taste of Roland Emmerich's Godzilla from our mouths. The upcoming reboot from director Gareth Edwards, however, seems poised to rinse it out for good. Out next month, the new film stars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche, alongside our trusty Gojira, of course. Rawr.
Today, Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures released a new extended trailer for the film, which includes some footage that we haven't seen before. Most importantly, we finally get a glimpse of the beast himself. (His scream isn't quite as piercing as George Bluth's, but it's close.) In addition, Cranston looks as angry as ever, and someone's luau gets ruined. The poi probably had nothing to do with it.
Godzilla hits theaters May 16. (io9)
