Hair products tend to be pretty straightforward in terms of how you use them: Squeeze or pump into hands, work into hair, spray directly on, etc. So, when we came across this solid block from cult U.K. brand Fudge Urban, we were very intrigued.
It looks and feels pretty much like a bar of soap, which is what first raised our eyebrows. Inspired by surfboard wax, it's made of hard wax and smells like a hot day at the beach with a strong, sweet cocktail. To use it, you literally rub it on your hair, not unlike waxing a board (or so we imagine).

So, what's the effect of this solid brick of wax? Hair instantly becomes super matte, extra texturized, and extremely pliable. In other words, it's the gritty beach hair of our dreams. But, unlike when we use a salt spray, it doesn't leave our strands feeling dry. It's great for hair of all lengths and textures, but we're particularly excited about it adding some texture and volume to a short crop.
Fudge Urban recently launched in the U.S., and we're anticipating the brand becoming a household name in no time. As for this specific form of product? We're really hoping that catches on, too.
Fudge Urban Surfer Wax, $10.99, available at Target.
