As you may have heard, Seth Rogen returns for his third tour of duty at SNL this weekend. But, we're pretty sure nothing he does come showtime will top these just-released promos featuring an elated Aidy Bryant.
Why is Bryant so jazzed? Because this marks the first time she's been included in one of the show's coveted spots, which usually serve as a pretty good indicator of where a cast member stands in Saturday Night's ever-changing hierarchy. If this gut-busting performance is any indication, we expect to see her staying firmly planted atop it.
The sophomore standout steals the show from Rogen who, kudos to him, is more than happy to step aside and hand over the spotlight. Among the best gags, Bryant asks Rogen to describe Zac Efron in "very slow, sexual descriptive words," and sings about how she's a "star" and will "live forever." We're not so sure about the immortality part, but with more showings like this, Bryant just might be the breakout star Lorne Michaels has been looking for. And, with SNL about to embark on a new golden age of female cast members, that's really saying something.
