Think you have what it takes to make it big in comedy? Well, NBC is about to make it a whole lot easier for you. With its new initiative, NBC Comedy Playground, the network wants to give up-and-coming comedy writers a big break.
Hopefuls can participate in the contest by submitting video clips of their show ideas. According to the Los Angeles Times, "Up to 10 finalists will be chosen, and NBC will provide funding for each finalist to produce a full pilot presentation based on the pitch." Then, none other than Amy Poehler, Jason Bateman, Mindy Kaling, and Seth Meyers will help pick the final two, who will both nab a show on NBC.
Do you have the chops? Start flexing your comedic muscles now, because the contest opens up on May 1. Feel free to practice your jokes in the comments, we promise we'll laugh. (Los Angeles Times)
