One of the many, many things we adore about Shailene Woodley is the fact the gal's got range. One minute she's going full-on action hero in Divergent, the next she's making our chins tremble in the heart-wrenching film adaptation of John Green's The Fault In Our Stars.
The film won't be released until June 6, but Woodley and on-screen love interest Ansel Elgort were kind enough to share a scene from the romance at last night's MTV Movie Awards. We may have watched it, oh, a dozen or so times already.
In the clip above, Woodley's Hazel Grace, who has cancer, plans a movie date with Gus, whom she met at a support group. Just when things are reaching a flirty peak, Gus pulls out a cigarette and sticks it between his teeth. This, of course, is a total deal breaker for a girl with severe health issues. Just when Hazel's done reading him the riot act, however, Gus comes back with a pretty smart response, waxing philosophical about survival and facing death. It's definitely worth a watch.
Needless to say, we're pretty psyched for this summer. We've got a box of tissues standing by.
