Hold on to your hats, Londoners! For the first time ever, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is coming to town. The world’s most watched runway event just announced it will hold its 2014 fashion extravaganza at Earls Court on December 2. Tuesday, at the brand's glossy Bond Street store, chief marketing officer Ed Razek and angels Adriana Lima and Candice Swanepoel divulged a few details of what we can expect (or, at least hope for) from the show.
Razek revealed that the costumes are already in the early design stage. We can't help but wonder how the getups will channel the Brit surroundings. (Does anyone remember the distinct London flavor in many of last year's outfits, like Lima's pearly queen number?) This year, could a full coronation ceremonial robe be in the works? Or, in honor of Britpop's twenty-year anniversary (we know, it feels like yesterday), perhaps we'll see an interpretation of the preppy looks worn by Damon Albarn and Jarvis Cocker.
As for the talent tasked with serenading us on the big night, Razek revealed that hasn't quite been decided yet. Although we love past choices Taylor Swift and Rihanna, it would be fab to see some homegrown talent strutting their stuff on the runway. Ellie Goulding, perhaps? Or, Charli XCX? Dare we hope for the Spice Girls?
We'll have to wait until December 2 to find out what will really go down. But, we're not alone in looking forward to the spectacle. Razek shared that he has already spoken to Cara Delevingne and that she's excited. Yeah, Cara; that’s how we feel, too.
