Sneak A Peek At The Yves Saint Laurent Biopic Right Here

We don't just throw words like "legendary" around, but the title certainly applies when it comes to designers like Yves Saint Laurent. The late fashion designer took ready-to-wear to the next level and redefined femininity with Le Smoking. And, should you mention his name in any setting today — fashion or otherwise — it's still instantly recognizable. To come to think of it, that's the only phrase uttered through the entirety of this biopic trailer: YSL's name. And, that's really all it needed.
We already started making mental reservations to see the film when the official movie poster was made public just a few weeks ago. And, with this next sneak peek, Yves Saint Laurent has upped the ante a little more. Save for the bit of name dropping by Pierre Niney, who plays the namesake lead character, the video below is a whirlwind of flashes: a peek at the designer's iconic Mondrian dress, the nude photo shoot for his men's fragrance Pour Homme, and his relationship with Pierre Bergé. Much like his personal life, YSL's muses also played a big part in the flick, including Betty Catroux, Loulou de La Falaise, and Victoire Doutreleau.
Press play on the clip below for a preview of the designer's triumphs and troubles — at least whatever can be teased within a minute-and-a-half clip. Get your tuxedo jacket (and maybe some tissues) ready when Yves Saint Laurent hits selected theaters on June 25.
