Here's a sobering thought: There are people who are old enough to drink alcohol who were born after the 1993 release of Robin Williams' comedy, Mrs. Doubtfire. Still, Fox 2000 is banking that those folks and anyone else who giggles at false teeth and jokes about hot flashes (guilty!) will come out in droves to see a sequel. Hey, why not?
Since 2001, Hollywood has been working on a follow-up to the Golden Globe-winning tale of a divorced dad posing as Scottish nanny Euphegenia Doubtfire in order to see his kids. Now, Fox 2000 seems to finally have its ducks in a row. Elf screenwriter David Berenbaum has been tapped to write the script, while Williams and director Chris Columbus are also reportedly on board.

The project is still in the development stage, but we can't help but speculate as to what the plot will entail. Will Williams' character go full-on granny to see his grandkids? And, has the old dear aged at all? At this point, our favorite nanny must be well into her dotage.
Maybe we should really just stop asking logistical plot questions about a man who convinces his ex-wife and kids that he's an elderly Scottish woman. Move over, Madea — Euphegenia's back in town! Watch the original film's trailer below for a little refresher. It is #TBT, after all. (Hollywood Reporter)
