Potterheads, we've got some excellent news to occupy your magical muggle minds: J.K. Rowling is coming to HBO.
Okay, so Rowling herself isn't starring in an HBO show (imagine, though). But, her first book post-Potter is getting the small-screen treatment! Rowling is teaming up with HBO and the BBC to produce a three-hour miniseries based on The Casual Vacancy. Production is set to begin filming this summer in — where else — England.
Unlike the iconic Harry Potter series, The Casual Vacancy is not an epic fantasy. It centers around a small town called Pagford, where a war has erupted between the haves and have nots, teens and their parents, husbands and wives, teachers and students, disturbing the seemingly idyllic hamlet. In this book, good and evil is entirely human, instead of magic-based.
We can't help but wonder if any of the Potter stars will make an appearance in the series. Here's hoping for a little Hogwarts reunion. (ONTD!)
