Seth Meyers Will Host The 2014 Emmy Awards (Really!)

Congrats, Seth Meyers. You've finally been upgraded to prime time. Well, for one night at least.
The newly appointed Late Night host can put yet another feather in his cap. NBC announced that Meyers will host the 2014 Emmy Awards when it airs live on Monday, August 25. Feel free to go ahead and make as many Lorne Michaels jokes as you'd like, kid.
The ceremony, which has been hosted in recent years by the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Lynch, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel, is a sort of rite of passage for talk show hosts. It will also give Meyers a chance to reach audiences who may go to bed before Late Night and Saturday Night Live air (yes, apparently those folks exist). Three hours of airtime is pretty daunting, but we've got no doubt that this guy can bring the funny, especially considering he's got Amy Poehler on speed dial.
Besides, who in their right mind would turn down the chance to rub elbows with the likes of Walter White, Don Draper, Olivia Pope, and King Joffrey? (Entertainment Weekly)
