The fuzziness surrounding Kanye West's upcoming movie Yeezus just got a bit clearer. We already knew that West was collaborating with American Psycho scribe Bret Easton Ellis, and, thanks to this trailer, that it'll be a combination of concert footage and original material.
That's about it.
Another piece of the puzzle was solved Thursday, when Mazdack Rassi, creative director of Milk Studios, Instagrammed what looks to be the film's official poster. Rassi may have jumped the gun a bit — the post has since been deleted, but this is the Internet. Nothing goes away forever. The poster confirms that Ellis did, in fact, write the film, which was directed by music-video auteur Hype Williams. It also revealed that Yeezus is a coproduction between DONDA, West's creative agency, and New York's bastion of cool Milk Studios. The one-sheet's blood-splattered aesthetic borrows heavily from Ellis' seminal novel about eighties excess, of which Kanye has declared himself a fan. While a release date has not been set, the arrival of Yeezus is imminent. We can feel it.
