Redheads: We've loved a few. Christina, Emma, and Damian, too. Alas, none of them can hold a candle to the latest addition at the San Francisco Zoo.
The zoo has welcomed a 10-month-old male red panda, who is expected to make his first public appearance at 10 a.m. on May 10. That's your day sorted.
The little guy will be living in style thanks to a custom-built enclosure created by Animal Planet's Treehouse Masters. Despite his "panda" distinction, he's actually a member of the Musteloidea family and looks vaguely like a fox. An adorable, ginger little fox.
Thanks to a $31,000 donation, Marie Lipman, the wife of Zoo emeritus board member Barry Lipman, will have the honor of naming the cute creature. She hasn't asked for suggestions, but we've got some thoughts: Freckle. Archie. Brody. What say you, supreme pet-namer Ellen Page? (SFist)
