We totally understand a little dress-code confusion. We'll admit that we had to do a bit of Google searching, too, in order to fully understand "white tie and decorations." But, even without an invitation to the White House Correspondents' Dinner in hand, we're not sure if Rose McGowan's ensemble follows proper Presidential etiquette — and we kind of love her for it.
While other A-listers arrived at the annual event in shiny, silky, generally sartorially safer gowns, McGowan chose a two-tone Ulyana Sergeenko Couture creation. It's stunning, no doubt; a dreamy, vampy, boudoir-style gown for the actress who's not afraid to take a few style risks. Our hat's off to any lady who'd toss away the dress code as soon as she RSVPs, but it takes a special kind of chutzpah to do it when world leaders are watching.
There's probably a pearl-clutching senator somewhere seriously side-eying McGowan's off-the-runway look, and maybe even we would be cautious of what to wear to party with the POTUS. But, we're starting to think it's not the Met Gala where the biggest red-carpet chances are taken, it's the White House. Anyone who thinks differently didn't spend nearly enough time scrolling through #NerdProm 'grams this weekend.
