The inmates of Litchfield Penitentiary sure do clean up nicely. In the lead-up to the eagerly awaited second season of Netflix's juggernaut hit Orange Is The New Black, Emmy magazine features the show's eclectic ensemble in one of their most glamorous shoots yet.
It's a little jarring to see the cast out of their khaki prison garb, but that's what makes the spread so exciting. The stunning images are accompanied by interviews with Kate Mulgrew and Taylor Schilling, who gush about the sense of camaraderie between castmates. "We spend a lot of time on the outside together," Mulgrew says of Schilling. "We’re good friends, and I think she was ideally cast." Schilling is equal in her praise. "There are so many raw, bold performances," she says of her costars. "It’s liberating. I feel like I can trust the others and the writing and be carried.”
