It looks like Rebel Wilson has another potentially hilarious role on the books. She's already attached to the Pitch Perfect sequel, but according to Variety, she just signed on to the remake of the 1980 flick Private Benjamin as well.
The original movie, which stars Goldie Hawn, follows a woman who joins the army after her husband dies on their wedding night — during sex, no less. The remake, however, will be updated with Wilson's signature comedic chops. The comedian will play a redneck who enlists in the Marines to get out of what's being described as a "tough situation."
Mark Gordon, who's known for Saving Private Ryan and 2012, is producing, so some military authenticity can be expected — on top of Wilson's enviable slapstick. The film is reportedly looking for a director and supporting cast. Here's hoping they nab some of her Pitch Perfect costars. (Variety)
