Gucci has just revealed that the brand will be releasing a cosmetics line in September this year. The announcement, which is one of the only things that could make us want to get to the end of summer faster, comes with the news that Charlotte Casiraghi will be the face of the collection. You might remember her from that time she posed with cute animals for Gucci's Forever Now campaign. She's also Grace Kelly's granddaughter and fifth in line to the throne of Monaco. We'd settle for being just one of those things, but hey, you can't win 'em all.

The collection will contain makeup for eyes, face, lips, and nail polish, plus brushes and skin-prep products. A short article published by Women's Wear Daily in June of last year reported on an anonymous "market source" claiming Gucci was working with P&G to develop makeup, but other than that and today's announcement, we haven't heard anything else about it. Usually there's considerable fanfare around this sort of thing — you'd think a first-ever makeup line from such a well-known luxury house would be a little buzzier. Why all the secrecy?
According to Gucci, the campaign starring Casiraghi will be "highly sensuous and feminine." The print campaign and accompanying video will "capture Casiraghi in a series of stolen moments which bring the spirit of the Gucci Cosmetics collection to life via Casiraghi’s mesmerizing beauty and modern allure." We're not really sure what that will translate to in terms of actual product. Will it be no-makeup makeup? Will it be the tools to create dewy skin and smoky eyes? In the end, though, all we really want is to copy whatever Casiraghi's doing.
