Lena Dunham & Anna Kendrick Feel Things In The Happy Christmas Trailer

One of the biggest hits from this year's Sundance Film Festival finally has a trailer. Director Joe Swanberg's Happy Christmas is a charming little indie featuring Anna Kendrick as an irresponsible 20-something who moves in with her older brother (Swanberg), his wife (Melanie Lynskey), and their infant son after she breaks up with her boyfriend. Lena Dunham also joins the party as Kendrick's friend, in her first major film role since Girls made her a household name.
Swanberg has been making films for nearly a decade and is often credited with pioneering the mumblecore movement, a grassroots style of filmmaking that relies almost entirely on improvisation. But, it wasn't until last year's surprising mini sleeper hit Drinking Buddies that mainstream audiences became aware of Swanberg's considerable skills behind the camera. Now he's got two hot young stars in Kendrick and Dunham — both of whom are having a moment — to help his latest film find a wider audience.
Will Kendrick's character take control of her life? Or, will she wallow in a pool of booze and self pity? We'll have to wait until June 25 to find out, when the film hit's theaters. It's released on VOD the following day. Watch the trailer for Happy Christmas below.
