Hey kids, it's time to kick what ever problem you're currently toiling over to the side because it's tiny. Like, cosmically tiny. So tiny, in fact, that it's virtually meaningless on the cosmic calendar. (Yes, even Kim Kardashian in her wedding dress won't register on its radar #shocker.) You see, riding the struggle bus through your day won't get you anywhere because there's no where to go — at least, not in the grand scheme of things.
This is great news, though! Even Neil deGrasse Tyson believes it to be humbling. The final segment of his 11-part series, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, painted a blissfully calming picture of where we'll be in, well, a very, very long time. "The effects of climate change will reverse and diminish," he said before launching into oracle mode. Basically we, as the beings we know and (sometimes) love today, will not be here. We'll be in space, floatin' around on solar sailboats, reminiscing on how awesome we were for paddling rivers, climbing mountains, and setting our space race in motion. Earth will have become a glowing blue (almost-perfect) sphere of nostalgia, as our interstellar ships will transport us through the cosmos only Tumblr users know. Humans will have evolved, and the space houses of Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century will have come into fruition.
It's a bummer none of us — let alone the Internet as we know it — will be around to witness it. So, use this as a kind of #yolo motivation. Make deGrasse Tyson proud by doing something that creates a ripple effect of change. You won't see it, but it's a lot better than howlin' at the moon. (Sploid)
