Seattle Symphony loves the classics. Beethoven. Bach. Sir Mix-A-Lot. All the greats.
In what may be the greatest classical-meets-rap mashup since Biz Markie donned a powdered wig and got his Mozart on, Sir Mix-A-Lot joined the Seattle Symphony for a rousing rendition of "Baby Got Back" — complete with booty-wagging dancers. (What would Becky say?)
The "orchestral movements from the 'hood night" — as the Seattle-based rapper put it — was part of the symphony's Sonic Evolution program, which honors musicians from the past and present. The concert featured a new piece inspired by Mix's body of work, as well as the orchestra's performance of his 1992 hip-hop classic.

Mix, meanwhile, contributed vocals while inviting women in the audience onto the stage. Don't let those formal dresses fool you — these ladies came to shake their rump. Watch the video below to see high-brow folks get down.
Hopefully, the concert's success will spark more symphonic takes on rap songs. "Baby Got Bach," anyone?
