Eyelash extensions: whether you've got 'em, heard of 'em, or even considered 'em, we're sure a few questions have entered your mind (about 'em). What exactly are they made of? How long do they last? Is it okay to use eye makeup remover when I have them? Well, we owe a big thank you to The Gloss for giving us a crash-course in all things lashes.
For one, falsies can be made from a bunch of different materials, but they're typically forged from polyester, silk, or even mink. The length of time they last depends entirely on how they are adhered — and how well you take care of them. Some will last for just over a week, while others can stick on there for more than a month. If you plan to make this a regular addition to your beauty regimen, you'll want to go in every six to eight weeks.
