Speaking at a Cannes Lion panel, Kanye West disclosed that the photo of him and Kim Kardashian participating in unconfirmed levels of tongue engagement — Instagram's most-liked image ever — took four days to edit. And, it wasn't because of the perennial Valencia vs. Walden inner debate. Per Page Six, Kanye recounted how famed photographer Annie Leibovitz (who captured the couple, and baby North, for Vogue's April cover) "pulled out" of shooting the nuptials at the last minute. "I think that she was scared of the idea of celebrity," West posited, a slight best left to his cryptic Twitter feed.
But, he wanted his wedding pictures to resemble Leibovitz's work, so, "we sat there and worked on that photo for, like, four days," during his honeymoon, no less, and it "was pissing [his] girl off." He continued: "Can you imagine telling someone who wants to just Instagram a photo, who's the No. 1 person on Instagram, 'We need to work on the color of the flower wall'? Or, the idea that it's a Givenchy dress, and it's not about the name Givenchy, it's about the talent that is Riccardo Tisci — and how important Kim is to the Internet." The answer to all of that is, "pick Valencia." He forged on, and the final pic "is raising the palette," with 2.29 million Likes. Plus, comments of appreciation, such as, "Who are they??" Kanye — he's a regular Annie Leibovitz. (Page Six)
