If you happen to be one of the lucky few who have found their soul mates, you're going to love Facebook's new feature. If you have trouble remembering your anniversary, you'll love it even more.
The social network just launched a new feature called "anniversary story" for users who have shared their wedding date on Facebook. For the rest of their lives, they'll receive a congratulatory message from Mark Zuckerberg and Co. and will have the opportunity to share a little photographic memory book of their life in holy matrimony. If you're worried about rubbing your blissful existence in the faces of your perennially single friends, don't worry. Users can opt out of sharing the albums.
The new feature makes total sense considering the direction Facebook is moving in. As teenagers stray more and more to hipper social-media platforms like Instagram and Twitter, Facebook has become the destination of choice for wedding photos, baby photos, and all other signs of maturity that still elude this writer. Even Zuckerberg himself is married and no longer the fresh-faced visionary sipping martinis with Justin Timberlake.
So, while the rest of the adults reading this piece rejoice at the prospect of more ways to express their undying love, this guy has a Tinder date to get ready for. Wish me luck!
