Calling all Breaking Bad fans: We have some good news and some bad news. Which do you want first? Well, if you're not going to answer, we'll just start with the bad news, just to get it out of the way.
It looks like it's going to be a little while before we get our first taste of AMC's eagerly awaited Better Call Saul. The Breaking Bad spin-off was originally set to premiere this fall, but has been pushed back until early 2015. While unexpected delays are often a death knell for any production, that doesn't appear to be the case here. That's where the good news comes in. Before airing a single episode, AMC has already ordered a second season, which means the network's execs likely dig what they've seen.
The enthusiasm surrounding the show should come as no surprise, considering Breaking Bad mastermind Vince Gilligan is serving as co-showrunner and executive producer. After all, he was the one who created Saul Goodman, Walter White's sleazy lawyer, who will be the focal point of the new series. With Bob Odenkirk back as Goodman, and Gilligan once again pulling the strings, this has all the makings of a hit for a network that desperately needs one. (The Hollywood Reporter)
