Professionally styled magazine interiors are dreamy, and we can flip through their palatial spreads all day. But, when we crave solutions for our odd, railroad-apartment setups, and kitchens with barely one square foot of counter space, those professional designs don't always compute. Well, the winner of Apartment Therapy's annual Small Cool contest shows us how diminutive is done.
Originally the parlor of a ship captain's home from the 1800s, the crib has antique crown molding and a regal mantelpiece. Even with all that grandeur, the space is a minuscule 350 square feet. Talk about about tight quarters. Owners Tiffany and Alan still wanted to have some normal household amenities — like a dining room table — and would not be discouraged by their home's mini measurements. Instead, they created a custom skinny table with four posts.
