Robin Thicke’s New Video Is Pretty Icky

Robin Thicke sure isn't one for subtlety. The "Blurred Lines" singer has made it no secret that his new album, Paula, is dedicated to his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton. The couple have been separated since February, and Thicke has since embarked on a very public, and somewhat desperate, quest to win her back. Unfortunately, his latest grand gesture feels like a huge misstep.
In his brand-new video for the single "Get Her Back," Thicke shares what looks to be very private text messages between the former couple. After the success and controversy of the "Blurred Lines" video, Thicke probably felt like he needed to make a splash with his next major release, and this stunning bit of TMI might just do the trick. But, at what cost?
"You embarrassed me." "I can't make love to you anymore." "I hate myself." "I wrote a whole album about you." "I don't care." "You drink too much." That's just a snippet of how intimate things get, and we can't imagine Patton is too pleased that her private conversations are being aired out in public. If Thicke really does want her back, he sure has a funny way of showing it.
