Photo: Amy harris/Rex Usa.According to the rumor mill, yesterday was a very happy birthday indeed for Solange Knowles. MediaTakeout reports that the singer got engaged to her longtime beau, Alan Ferguson, while celebrating her 28th birthday in Jamaica.
Details of the engagement are scarce, and Knowles has yet to confirm or deny the reports. Last night, Beyoncé's sister posted two photos on Instagram, one showing her embracing the 51-year-old Ferguson and the other thanking fans for their birthday wishes. Both photos have since been removed.
"Today couldn't have been more perfect," Knowles wrote in the since-deleted post. "I couldn't have smiled harder. Thank you for all of your lovely and wonderful wishes. They warmed my heart and I simply feel grateful for all the love."

If the reports are true, this would be the second marriage for Knowles, who has been dating music video director Ferguson for around five years. She split from ex-husband Daniel Smith in
2007 and has a nine-year-old son from that marriage.
