Lewis Watson
“Wide Eyes”
Lewis Watson knows how to make us feel an aching in our hearts with his quiet and gorgeously harmonized version of Local Natives' "Wide Eyes." The 21-year-old singer-songwriter's version is stripped down, and he sounds well beyond his years. We're excited to hear more of Watson's own tunes on his debut LP, The Morning, out July 8.
Emmy Wildwood
“RVR LVR”
Emmy Wildwood takes post-breakup jams into new territory with her avant-garde vocals and electro-rock rhythms. The Brooklyn singer definitely has her own style in both music and fashion — she's also a stylist and proprietor of Williamsburg's Tiger Blanket. Her debut EP, Mean Love , came out yesterday, and we can't stop listening to her heartbreak rock. Click below for a free download.
Icona Pop
“Just Another Night” (Solidisco Remix)
Solidisco brings disco vibes to Icona Pop’s “Just Another Night.” The track crosses multiple genres and takes the dance-pop duo’s music into new territory. This is a great song guaranteed to keep the party going all night long.
Catey Shaw
“Revolution”
With her raspy, gorgeous Billie Holiday-esque vocals, Brooklyn’s Catey Shaw knows how to make an addictive and catchy pop track. With “Revolution,” Shaw has created an anthem showing that love really can conquer everything and change the world. We think this song has the spirit of NYC Pride written all over it.
Garden City Movement
“Lir”
If you’re a fan of Thievery Corporation, then Garden City Movement is right up your alley. The Israeli electronic group has created a magical, dreamy piece of music that echoes and hums with the sounds of nature. We’re digging this experimental, ambient track from its Bengali Cinema EP on BLDG5 Records — it definitely has us intrigued. You can also catch these guys making their festival debut this weekend at Glastonbury.
