Wild Trailer: Just Give Reese Witherspoon The Oscar Now & Be Done With It

The Witherspoonaissance officially starts now. Okay, so maybe that doesn't quite roll off the tongue like last year's McConaissance, which leaves us about four months to come up with something a little snappier. That's when Reese Witherspoon's Wild hits theaters, and based on the stirring new trailer, it looks like the perfect vehicle to help revive her stagnant career.
Based on the Cheryl Strayed memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, the film charts her journey on the grueling 1,100 mile long Pacific Crest Trail, as she attempts to shed her life as a heroin-addicted divorcée. It was helmed by Jean-Marc Vallee, who if you'll recall, is the man who directed Matthew McConaughey all the way to an Oscar in last year's Dallas Buyers Club.

We don't even need to see Wild to know that Witherspoon will be a frontrunner for all the awards this fall. After a string of tepid releases like Water for Elephants and This Means War, Witherspoon seems ready to live up to her Oscar-winning performance as June Carter Cash in Walk The Line. With the trio of Mud, Wild, and a plum role in Paul Thomas Anderson's Inherent Vice also in the can, the Witherspoonaissance is in full swing. Again, we'll come up with something better, we swear.
