Colbie Caillat Gives Women A Makeunder In New Music Video For “Try”

Colbie Caillat loves you just the way you are.
In her new music video for "Try," from the EP Gypsy Heart, the singer deconstructs the overly edited and polished images of women in the media.
Of course, the video's message extends far beyond the photoshopping of just models, actresses, and singers. It's a summons to all women — and all people — to embrace their natural beauty.
A glammed-out Caillat begins the song by reciting the components of a common routine: "Put your makeup on; get your nails done; curl your hair." Meanwhile, women of all races, shapes, and sizes lip-sync along.

Eventually, the instructions articulated at the beginning are completely undone, as each woman chooses their own look after Caillat poses the question, "Do you like you?"
The song ultimately rejects its self-titled demand, telling women they do not have to try, and should be happy with what they see, not what others see. It's a sweet and simple message that has us feeling all "Bubbly."
