We're feeling slightly more excited than usual to hit the gym tomorrow. Mostly because of our newfound appreciation for American Ninja Warriors — but also because track and field superstar Lolo Jones dominated the red carpet last night.
Jones' sartorial success is evident in how complimentary her outfit is for her athletic Olympian shape. Her classic, all-black color scheme included a wide-legged, high-waist pant. It emphasized Lolo's small waistline, skimmed over her muscular quads, and created curves on her linear frame. Instead of a tailored top or jacket, Lolo added a crop top with wide sleeves — basically the evening-wear version of the muscle tee. It draped elegantly across her wide shoulders and bobsled-powering arms, yet also showed off some off of her hardest-earned assets (the ones that resemble a washboard).
While it's common to get motivation from athletes during their sports performances, today we have just as much respect for those who inspire us with their off-duty appearances. Strong ladies of all kinds, take note: Muscle tees look amazing with muscles, and a crop top can be just as empowering as a blazer.
