Sunday marked the one-year anniversary of the sudden death of Glee star Cory Monteith. And now, his mother, Ann McGregor, is speaking out for the very first time about her son's passing.
In an interview with Good Morning America, she spoke with Bianna Golodryga about her "horrendous" loss. As expected for a grieving mother, McGregor is still dealing with her pain. "Until three days ago, I couldn't look at a picture of Cory," she said. "So, there's been progress."
McGregor also revealed that she keeps in touch with Lea Michele via text and email. "She’s hurting too; you see the sadness,” she said. “I know her pain.” She also cited Cory's strained relationship with his father as one of the issues he had been trying to work out as a teenager.

When asked for advice for other mothers dealing with their children's drug abuse, McGregor replied, "I don't think we have power to change the choices they're making. I think with the kind of connection Cory and I had, if we couldn't prevent that situation, I don't have the answer."
