MTV Snubbed Katy Perry & She’s Not Happy About It

Yesterday MTV announced its VMA nominations, and while the likes of Beyoncé and Iggy Azalea were well represented, another pop star coming off a huge year was glaringly absent.
While Katy Perry picked up a couple of nods for her Juicy J collaboration "Dark Horse," her gargantuan hit "Roar" was shut out entirely.
Perry took to Twitter to address the snub.
"I'm good with my 569,000,000+ views on Roar," she wrote, referencing the tropical clip's massive YouTube numbers.
Despite her I-give-no-effs-at-all attitude, the mere mention of the snub tastes a little like sour grapes. But, Perry of all people should recognize that the VMAs lost their relevance and credibility a long time ago, when MTV devolved into a reality TV delivery system and was no longer the go-to for cutting-edge music video programming. (That title now belongs to the Internet.)
The VMAs have simply become a social media showcase for gaffes, fails, and wardrobe malfunctions perpetrated by the world's top pop stars. For example: Everyone remembers Miley Cyrus' twerk-attack on Robin Thicke from last year's show. But, does anyone remember who won best video? Or any award for that matter?
But, if Perry really does want a Moonman, let's make her a Moonman. Does anyone have some tin foil? (Oh No They Didn't!)
